Journal 11

I think the best way for me to remember things is by seeing them or having someone show me how to do something. To reach parents that are visual you could reenact what happened and show them how and where something happened. To reach an auditory parent you can explain to them exactly what happen by simply using your voice. A kinesthetic parent understands by doing not just listening or seeing what happens.

Health Alert: We have had reports of the flu in our center recently.
What is it: Influenza (the flu) is a broad term for several types of contagious upper respiratory infections caused by different viruses.
How it is spread: sneezing, not washing hands enough or properly, sharing drinks or food, touching doorknobs or handles.
What to look for: a fever over 100 degrees or feeling feverish, a cough/ sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headaches/bodyaches, chills, fatigue, vomiting or diarrhea.
What you can do: Check for symptoms, make sure your child is properly washing hands, and having child cough into inside of the elbow.
If you suspect your child has been infected: Call your doctor as soon as you can.
What we are doing to prevent the spread: keeping klneex close by at all times, showing proper hand washing, showing proper coughing into arm, cleaning all toys, tables, bedding at the end of each day.

In the last few years we have learned of an increase in peanut allergies in children. Due to finding this out we no longer allow peanuts in our center. Anything containing peanuts, peanut butter, or made in a factory will peanut will not be allowed. Some nut free products that are allowed are: oreos, nilla wafers, pretzels, pudding, yogurt, animal crackers, etc. This is very serious and we hope that you understand our efforts in trying to prevent an emergency. Thank you for your understanding.

A new month is beginning at our center next week! April! We have many fun activies planned for your children including a crazy hair day, pajama day, face painting day, moon bounce day, and a backwards day. Check your calendar for dates on all of these fun events that will happen this month. Tuition is due at the beginning of the month so bring it to the main office as soon as you can. To be dressed for success you do not want to wear baggy clothes that hang off of you. You need to wear clothes that fit your size but not too tight. Your clothes should not be too revealing but it is okay to show a little skin. Another big thing is dressing age approiate, you do not want to wear something a teenager would wear, you want to look professional. A lot of people think to dress for sucess you have to wear suits all the time which is not true. You can still have a cute outfit and look professional.
